The transportation staff is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of Group Home residents to and from their group homes, day habilitation programs, and medical appointments.  The transport driver reports to the Group Home Director


1.  Meets resident's transportation objectives by forecasting requirements; inspect resident's hygiene, have necessary items for day programs (i-pad, backpack, walker, lunch boxes, etc.)
2.  Ensure the rights of the residents, treating them with dignity and respect.
3.  Conduct all matters in a mature and professional manner while representing the company.
4.  Ensures residents are transported to correct day program location; responding to special requests (i.e. suspensions, appointments, illnesses, early release, forgotten items, etc.)
5.  Reporting maintenance issues and behaviors to Supervisors.
6.  Complete all necessary paperwork (i.e. incident reports, mileage log, timesheets, etc.)
7.  Maintains safe, healthy, and clean work environment; complying with legal regulations.
8.  Updates job knowledge by participating in ongoing trainings (resident special needs trainings and delegations)
9.  Must keep adequate fuel levels in Company vans.
10. Must give adequate advance notice to Supervisor if not able to make shift.
11. Agrees to be on call from 6:30 AM until the end of the route.


Minimum educational experience:  High School Diploma or GED
Prefer at least 2 years experience in Direct Care with the IDD population and leadership experience
Minimum age 21 years of age
Must have been a licensed driver for at least one year with a clean driving record.  Must provide proof of current automobile insurance.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.
